Twitter throws Taylor Swift a goodbye party
The split between two mega stars has gotten a whole lot uglier, and Twitter is backing the This is what you came for DJ.
After over a year of dating, Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris broke up and the internet erupted with Taylor Swift memes about future break up songs she’ll write. Thereafter rumours surfaced that Harris was writing a break-up song himself.
Not long after their split, Swift was caught up in a whirlwind romance with a famous Hollywood actor. However, the most recent in the ex-lovers spat, was the DJ’s twitter rant.
It began with Harris retweeting an article saying T.Swift’s rep confirmed she had a hand in his latest hit: This is what you came for. “And she sings on a little bit of it too.
“Amazing lyric writer and she smashed it as usual,” Harris tweeted, with the article attached.
He then continued in a series of tweets, saying: “I wrote the music, produced the song, arranged it and cut the vocals though. And initially she wanted it kept secret, hence the pseudonym”
“Hurtful to me at this point that her and her team would go so far out of their way to try and make ME look bad at this stage though”
“I know you're off tour and you need someone new to try and bury like Katy ETC but I'm not that guy, sorry. I won't allow it,” The DJ tweeted.
He ended off his rant with: “Please focus on the positive aspects of YOUR life because you've earned a great one”
But Twitter didn’t let it end there. Fans rushed to his defense, getting the hashtag #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty started.
Users accompanied the hashtag with meme’s and Gif’s all throwing Shade at the US Hitmaker.
